Archives committee is about getting out to all the activities during Oktoberfest and taking pictures of all the great events like the parade, Miss Oktoberfest, many Festhallen, opening ceremonies etc. to maintain the history, spirit and growth of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest.

After Oktoberfest the committee collects, edits, selects photographs from the festival & committee volunteers and then sends them to the University of Waterloo where they maintain and preserve all Oktoberfest’s photographs including administrative & financial files at the Special Collections Archives library.   This material is available for future research and to anyone interested in the history of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest.

The Archives Committee published an exciting Anniversary book “The First 40 Years” – check the link at for their work at  .  They also put together a presidential yearbook for each 2year presidency, to remember their term of the Festival. The 40th Anniversary & yearbooks are available from the K-W Oktoberfest Inc. office, for all volunteers.

Currently, the Archives Committee is looking for additional volunteers who are interested in helping preserve all of the memories and historical information regarding Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. If this appeals to you, please apply
