2008

Tim Hattle
In 1997, Tim Hattle joined K-W Oktoberfest Inc. as a volunteer with the Production/Special Projects Committee, where his talents and skills as a successful construction contractor (Tim is the owner/operator of “Hattle Framing Inc.”) were quickly put to good use. Since then the committee, which was renamed the Downtown Production Committee, has been lucky to have Tim as Vice-Chair in 2005 and 2006 and as Chair since 2007. Tim welcomes visitors to Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest in a big way as his committee is responsible for our Willkommen Platz, which is built in the days leading up to the festival and then miraculously disappears when the festival is through. On Benton and Frederick Streets, the construction and schedule of activities are all the result of Tim’s creative efforts. Tim is also an active member of the Convention Committee and the Maypole team. In 2006, Tim served on the Board as a Director at Large. Tim is an exceptionally skilled craftsman whose contributions to the Festival have been many. Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest is proud to thank and acknowledge the efforts of Tim Hattle as one of the Volunteers of the Year for 2008.

Art Primosch
For the past 27 years, Art Primosch has been an active and committed member of Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest. His contributions include serving on the Coin Committee, on the Publicity and Public Relations Committees, and on the International Talent Committee. His heart, however, has belonged to the Conventions Committee, a group he joined in 1990 and which he currently helps lead as Vice-Chair. In this role, Art is known as the ‘go-to-guy’ for many functions, as fellow volunteers and staff have come to know him for his dependability and for his ability to get it done. Art has often been active on more than one and sometimes as many as three committees during the same year – a clear reflection of his heartfelt dedication and loyalty to Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest and to creating the spirit of Gemütlichkeit. In his spare time, Art is a successful local entrepreneur and property manager who, despite his busy ‘day job’ has always made time to support Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest with his ‘ready to help’ attitude. For his 27 years of dedicated service, Kitchener-Waterloo Oktoberfest thanks and recognizes Art Primosch as one of the Volunteers of the Year for 2008.
